Title: Newby from NE Wales
Post by: SebringMXRV8 on November 22, 2018, 08:02:05 PM
Hi
I'm based in Mold, north Wales but originate from up north in Cumbria. After many years at work (as a Maintenance technician) the retirement light shines very bright at the end of the tunnel! Only a couple of month to go, :whoohoo: and currently working part time. This has allowed me to get the Man Shed ready at the bottom of the garden ready to commence some serious model building??

I've previously built 2 kit cars so not looking for something a little smaller, Steam and Hit n Miss engines currently shine bright on my list.

 :hi:

Have you had any thoughts on which steam or hit and miss engines you might be interested in? Have you actually made any engine before? Or would this be the first?

Jo

Cheers Graham.

Hi

Thanks for all the replies, it's nice to be so feel so welcome. Jo has asked if I've built any engines well the answer is nearly.
Started a Sturt beam engine a while ago but a slight error and insufficient equipment resulted in it being put on the back burner. I just need a few spare castings and hope not to repeat the mistakes and then I've completed 1 engine.
No 2 engine will between another Stuart (Twin Launch) or The Economy petrol (for Graham) Hit & miss engine

Reply to Andrew, didn't Brian Rupnow do a steam/air hit and miss engine? I think I downloaded the drawings to my wish list. JC
