Jim had asked about a build thread about my third hand in the Beyer Peacock thread. I don't have a SBS of the builds but I did make a few and sold them for 175 Canadian I do not intend to make any more but here are a few pictures of some that I have made they are pretty self explanatory.

Those are really nice, Mike!
Look a lot better than the cheap little alligator-clip version that I have!

Beautiful sets, have to see how big a bribe it will take to get the shop elves to make one up for me...

You might need the cookie wheelbarrow Chris .....

Hi Mike another here whose eye was caught by that delightfully elegant third hand in your locomotive build.
I particularly like the variety of end fittings so you can use it for different types of work, especially the silver soldering.
Beautiful design work that has certainly given me a few ideas, thank you for posting it.

Chris and Jim
I think that you will find that the best clamp tips are these ones and not the ones that you drew up Chris it looks like you drew the wood clamps which for model ship work are great for small gluing. I find that I mostly use the toolmakers clamps these are the simple type based on the miniature Lee Valley type. Chris your drawing prompted me to go looking in my old Toshiba laptop (2002) for the Auto cad LT 2000 file that the earlier drawing I posted was generated from. Here is an updated version of that original Cad file with the toolmakers clamps that I drew this morning. I'm a bit rusty on the auto cad because I do not use it much. It is an older version and my Windows 7 doesn't support it so it is on an old XP machine. I use Corel Draw 7 quite a bit because I found it easier to draw curves for model boats and you know how habits get. I must admit it was good to work with the cad program this morning.
