Hello all,
I have just joined and looking forward to it.
I am 70 yrs young and apprentice trained toolmaker.
Retired but working part time making parts for vintage racing cars and motorcycles as well as JAP  v twin engines.
Have been Radio Control Aircraft building and flying for many years.
Now have my own lathe and milling machine and a cnc router. Have decided to build an Anzani 1/4 scale aero engine type Y 1910, drawings by the late L Chinery.
Having a problem finding the castings. Anyone who can help I would be much appreciated.
Tea time, must go.
JB

I wouldn't want anyone missing out on castings  :hellno: One of our members (Mike Coles) does his own castings of three types of Anzanis all of which can be built using Les Chenery's drawings  ;)

Good to see you found your way here with a bit of direction.

As I said Mike's foundry man is no longer producing but you may be lucky if he has any spare sets still available. It was about a year ago he told me he can't get any more cast but with that range of tools cutting from solid would not be out of the question.

Hello, I am about 90% through the build of the 1/4 scale Y config Anzani. I am using the same drawings and castings from Mike Cole. When i started he only had castings for carb, front and rear crankcase and rear support. When i met him at the MMEE last October he said he then also had castings for the cylinder barrel.
I agree with the comments that castings may be unnecessary if you have the right tools and skills.
For example i machined my barrels from solid, took time but nice item at the end.
