Very nice! How long does one of those diamond disks last? Also, do you cut back the steel before sharpening the carbide?

I don't know how long they last not worn one out yet I've probably reground 20 tools with the one shown and it shows little wear. The wheels are two sided so you'll get plenty of use out of them, and they are cheep enough.

Yes and no if the steels under the carbide I leave it there the wheel doesn't seem to mind it but if it down the shank ie the rim of the wheel  comes in contact then I have cut it away with an ordinary grinding wheel
