« on: July 22, 2020, 01:36:20 PM »
My friend Paul at Southern Boiler Works Ltd has had two boilers he was making stolen from him  :cussing: More details of the boilers here: https://www.facebook.com/Southern-Boiler-Works-LTD-2091784611093133/?hc_ref=ARQrqPhukbF-dwrgw5UoZUEtx6WLGZ_1DgxKIZOx3-NPUjDngQGKGRYnzTzs0ssdlH4&fref=nf

If any one is offered, or knows of anyone who acquires a new boiler for either a 7.1/4” br std 5 or a GWR County, please contact Paul on  01276 505211

I hope they are steel rather than copper.

whats really strange is that copper stock was left behind,, just mainly the boilers and their parts.. someone wanted the boilers as boilers,, plus the price of copper is way down, at least around here..
what the @#&% over

It would seem that they were stolen with a customer in mind  There must be remarkably few 7 1/4” Br std 5 or GWR County's being built so it should be easy enough to track down from the suppliers of the castings who might be interested in a stolen boiler

It must be heart destroying for his two customers as once he starts building a customer's boiler he sends them daily updates with photographs showing his progress. His last contact would have been to tell them they have been stolen  :toilet_claw:

Just last week, a 1939 BMW worth 1,000,000 euro disapeared from a collectors garage. It apeared again one week later in another garage, 400km away. Turns out, its part of a inheritage dispute where the person involved does not agree with the devision :slap:

The cost of the materials lost is bad enough, but all the work invested in them, hearbreaking for sure. Thieves deserve a very slow lowering into the volcano...

Send them on the first manned mission to a black hole and let them experience spaghettification first hand.

This is sad but somewhat odd  ::) As I understand the pressure vessel regs these boilers are not useable in public without all the relevant paperwork (unless this was taken as well?). Anyone with enough money for an entirely private railway of this size could surely afford the boilers. In 2011 two complete locomotives were stolen from the Swiss Vapeur Parc in Le Bouveret. This would have required a crane and a lorry and what would you do with to very well known models? The link (in German) is here:

Best regards

Roger
