Fun side projects
« on: July 20, 2020, 07:16:01 PM »
A friend of mine sent me this video link, I could see people here making something like these sculptures to go with their engines...

I found his website too:

A note here, Chris

When I first went to this thread, I saw no video at all, just a blank space where I expected it would be located.

Then it occurred to me that I had accessed the forum with a URL that began with 'https' (note the 's').  Apparently FireFox operating in this secure mode does not allow material originating from what it considers insecure sites (sites without 's' ? don't know).

So I removed the 's' from the URL and, voila, your video appears.

The moderators should be made aware of this so, when users complain about not seeing linked material, they can advise them to operate unsecured.

Perhaps there are other ways to deal with this problem but I only know of this technique.

Hi Marv,  this issue has come up on a number of threads over the last few months, some of the admins have been involved in the replies so they must know. Other forums handle it okay, seems like a change could fix it here. I'm not sure if its just a firefox thing, I have seen it in chrome on android too.

Edit:  yup, just tested here on my tablet, if I add the s back in, no video. It is NOT just firefox! Chrome too.

I had the same problem with Apple's Safari.
