MXL Pulley profile help.
« on: May 21, 2020, 04:19:29 PM »
I need to make a  MXL pulley with 95T.

I have been searching the net for months (on and off) looking for the profile to make the pulley and have drawn a blank.
can find lots of info on the belt, but nothing for the pulley its self, not even a place where i can buy a cutting hob for a 95T pulley.

unless some one can point me in the right direction for this, i was thinking i could draw the belt up in cad, then some how bend the cad belt around the right size pulley blank. I have know idea how i could do that, but its a thought.

any help would be great.

not sure if this helps, but this page has a sketch of the tooth profile with some information:

and this one has more details and (apparently) the guy made a calculation tool for developing Cad profiles

http://gritlab.org/timing-pulley-generator/

the generator will give you a downloadable file in svg format.
