Very very sad to hear.
He was a big help to me when I started this hobby. A really nice guy.

Wow! I'm so sorry to hear this. Bob seemed immortal to me and certainly way above my skill level. I'm going to miss him.
My deepest condolences go to his family.

In an earlier life, Bob  :LittleAngel:....worked as a Marine Engineering Officer on our Aircraft Carrier HMAS Melbourne, and an HMAS DDG Destroyer

Sometime before his retirement he also spent a secondment in the Ship Refit Planning Department at HMA Garden Island Naval Dockyard

Bob & I shared a few PM e-mails about his Naval work, and my earlier role as a Foreman in Above Water Weapons on our RAN vessels at the same Garden Island Dockyard

RIP

Derek

Thank you Bob for all your contributions to the fellowship of Model Engine Makers across the world. I for one will always remember you as the designer of the MEM Corliss Valve engine. You will be sadly missed by us all.

I've been away for a few weeks and was not able to keep up to speed on a lot of things.

My delayed condolences

I became aware of Bob in the days I was lurking, perhaps the first day I came accross "the other place," where he used to post. I had the pleasure to get responses from him over the years.

He will be missed.
