Afraid my issues don't go back that far.

As Sarik do not sell the Craftsman drawings and Westbury did not own the copyright, the original design/drawings of 1947 and 1948 are out of copyright. ME mag and their copyright is a bag of worms.

The Mk1 drawings are better than the MK 2 which I must try to sort out it if I ever get time :facepalm2:

You only seem to be missing the ignition bracket and carb/venturi both of which would be fairly easy to do from solid, the bracket is  the only part needed for spart as the carb is needed for both.. The Grabcad model has enough detail to be able to make them even if the Mk2 drawings are a bit hard to read in that area. I would have thought the Mk2 drawings are what was in ME as the date on the drawing is Feb '48

If you don't have the CAD to produce a 2D drawing of those parts let me know.

Forgot  Carb drawing...

Yes standard boring contact breaker assy but it will need a twin spark coil setup to go with it.

Jasonb, Thank you for the offer, I have AutoCad 14, have had since the 90's, running on stand alone comp running Windows XP, so drawing is not a problem, May need to be machined in two pieces and bolted together, will know after looking at the drawings more.

Jo, Thank you for the drawing, twin coil is not a problem, I purchased several single and a couple of twin coils(3 Volt) around 10 years ago, as I mess around with old time spark engines.

Cheers

Hi All,
Does anyone have a cleaner drawing of the Contact Breaker Assembly, After looking at what I have I may be able to machine from solid stock. Pic of the drawing I have.

It will machine from solid.

Can your Autocad import STEP files?

If not what about DXF as that is more likely given it's age. See if you can open this and put sizes to it if not let me know.

The part was picked from the Grabcad file I posted early on. It's been drawn in imperial. All the other parts can also be individualy selected and drawings etc done.

Jasonb, comes up as "incomplete DXF template", you are correct, cant use "step" files. Other file format is "DWG"

The Contact breaker Assy is almost identical on all small model engines. I normally hack them out of a piece of Ally

looks like Jo has saved the trouble but see if you can open this DWG file, it's done in an early format.

Here drawing does not show that the top hat bushes should be insulating eg Corian and the short 1/8" pin also non conductive

I have access to the requisite ME issues (2439, 2441, 2443, 2445, 2447, 2449) if you need a pdf copy offline. Not sure about copyright as Jo said that is a mess.
I gave my entire rather complete collection to a friend.

Jo, Thank you for the Drawing.
Jasonb, Thank you for the DWG, worked after a little messing around. The old AutoCad is not strictly compatible with the new versions. I have come across this before.

Hi All,
I would just like to thank all of you who supplied drawings. It has helped me out a lot. Now to study the drawings and see if I can do the points assy first before working on the rest.
Cheers
Andrew
