New Project
« on: January 15, 2020, 03:57:52 AM »
Because I am a bit fed up with Columbine’s engine refusing to run properly and I think I need a break from it I have decided to make an oscillating engine. I have a 90mm dia. Flywheel casting so I am hoping to use this and size the rest of the engine accordingly. So any suggestions for plans? I will run it on steam by taking a secondary feed from my timber mill drag saw boiler. I am thinking of something a little bit fancy rather than a basic model.

Julius has quite a nice looking vertical that uses an 80mm flywheel so your 90 would do.

You could alter it to double acting which would be better, or he has a double acting one with 100mm flywheel which would probably work wih your 90mm

I did one of a similar style to the first over Chrismas to my own design based on a photo

Thanks very much Jason, I like that design, and the model you made looks 'cool' so I will copy your one.
