Bad news: It will be a while before the new quill comes in (Chinese New Year).

Good news: I'm still under warranty and getting it for free. (Even though I told them it was my fault and I didn't feel right about that.)
So a partial payment...a little plug...I'm very happy with Precision Mathews.

Got a new chuck today from PM. Will wait for new quill before playing with it.

Had a stress test today. Worked my legs off on the treadmill but it was a no-go. My heart rate wouldn't get up to where they wanted.
So they injected me with some stuff that dilates all your blood vessels. That felt pretty weird. Results next week.
I suspect the heart rate didn't increase because of some meds I'm taking (even though I didn't take them this morning as requested).

I'm not a Doctor, and haven't even played one on TV, although I did have a drink with one at a bar once, so I'm not really able to interpret your stress test....... BUT I am always glad to hear of top customer service, so you've got that going for you, which is great. Glad to hear Precision Mathews are looking after you.
Stuart

Forging ahead regardless.

Outstanding!

If you want some help setting that up....let me know

Generally, once you get over say half inch with MT2, I put a lathe drive dog on the drill, and set the dog on top of the compound.  That way the dog takes all the torque and not the socket...   That's an old school trick that still works very well,.  I would suggest you do that in future.

Here's a link to a picture of what I'm getting on about..

Additionally, take the rake off a big drill if your going to cut brass, so it doesn't grab..

Thanks. That's a big help.

Additionally, take the rake off a big drill if your going to cut brass, so it doesn't grab..

That's probably my biggest failure. There's been a lot of talk about having a separate set of drills for brass and I keep forgetting.
