Reunion.
« on: October 14, 2019, 11:45:14 AM »
The internet is a wonderful tool, this forum a prime example.

Our interests and endeavours shared in realtime around the globe. I well remember it taking nearly three months to publish an article I had written about casting parts for my Lister " P " type in Stationary Engine magazine. Now we have the ability to share almost immediately!

Thanks to " social media " we can form groups of like minded people to share our interests, the reason for this post. I'm quite new to this area, perhaps a little " old fashioned " or just plain old as my children tell me.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/ALYNFOUNDRYMODELS/?ref=share

Alyn Foundry was established thirty odd years ago. I met many interesting people who shared my passion in the preservation of our past. This group has been set up to try and reconnect with both former customers and present owners of Alyn foundry engines, please feel free to join.

Already under discussion a possible rally!!

Cheers Graham.

I can see it OK, only have an account for a few useful groups I visit.

Think you need a decent image rather than that blue one with odd figures.

Will post some images of mine later.

Thanks for taking a look Jason but I'm a little confused about what you've written above?

Cheers Graham.

 :lolb:

I see  what you mean Jason. And I fully agree!

However, I'm not able to see that image myself, for some reason. I can't find a " tool " to alter it either.

Ah, the vagaries of social media....

Getting there though the wide picture format does chop half the writing off.

Happy new Year everyone.

Two months have elapsed, we now have 32 members.

I've been quietly reminiscing on the history and development of my small business, please feel free to to browse. Could really do with more former customers/owners pictures though.

Cheers Graham.

Thanks for the heads up Graham, I don't visit your page that often but have enjoyed the stories over the last few days.

As for those without a FB account, they don't know what they are missing out on :LittleDevil:

Thank you Jason.

As I mentioned earlier I'm quite new to this " social media " malarkey, it's an open group, can you not browse? Without being on Facebook?

Cheers Graham.

They don't have time to mess around with Farcebook - they have a life  ::)

If you don't have an account you can't see anything

I don't like it that much, just a select few pages that I visit every so often like Wayne Grennings. I think Grahams is the only one I have posted on.

Shame you are missing out on the possibility of some castings :lolb: Maybe Surus should sign up
