r/c model warship fleet gathering

city lake, Rocky Mount NC,, starting today, sat and sun.. Sat is the big day.. 1/96th scale (think 8 ft battleships) I'll have a few of my 1890s cruisers there on sat.. we have had over 80 ships and all visitors are welcome..

Anybody make a model of BB-12    the USS Ohio?.....curious

I have a full set of drawings for her engines....10000 HP 4 legged triples

not that I know of,, WWII era gets most of the attention along with newer fast stuff.. crazies like me admire the early beast. have looked real hard at USS Wisconsin BB9,, a cage mast in 1/96 can look great.. I do have a hull for the original USS Texas BB1 (she's so ugly you just can't look away,, looks like the offspring of a snapping turtle and a hermit crab)

Pretty ship....part of the "Great White Fleet" with the ram bow and the crest.....I have a picture of her somewhere on her trials with a massive bow wave up close....

Hello again tghs,

I have been aboard the USS Texas many times and she is a brute of a vessel. A good friend, Jim, served aboard her and he told me that the heat below decks while underway was so oppressive that most of the crew slept on deck. Jim said that he slept under one of the huge side guns most of the time. Would love to see a scale RC model of her.

that's the second Texas, when battleship design had somewhat stabilized.. BB1 was not that well refined..
