Finished Engine Notes
This is the finished engine.  After timing was set, I had a minor problem with it slowing down and stopping.  The issue was the piston rod.  It was used “as is” and the irregularities caused it to heat up.  It was fixed by turning it concentric and thus some thousandths smaller.
The original 1895 engine picture does not have lagging on the cylinder and I liked the bronze cylinder as it is, thus I elected to leave it "bare" and skip the lagging.

This is a video of it running about as slow as it will go.

Thanks.  It was a fun build.  Hopefully there is an idea in there that someone will find useful.

And now I have a YouTube "channel".   :)

Awesome build with plenty of pictures!  It's always interesting to see how other people handle part features and their work flow in building a engine.  Everyone does a little different, but you want to end up with the same result, a fine running engine.

Lovely work Reed, I've got to get back to the one I was gifted awhile back and finish it off.
