Mid-east Ohio Model Engineering Expo 2019
« on: September 03, 2019, 11:23:26 PM »
Just a reminder that the show is at the end of the month. The new location combined with the car show and fly in makes the show even better. I'll be packing up Wednesday night and rolling out Thursday morning. Going to visit some people in Ohio along the way and be ready for setup Friday morning.

See you there.

Steve,
As much as I'd like to go it doesn't look very likely this year. Although miracles still do happen I'm not expecting one in this case. Have a blast and take lots of photos.

HI Steve,
I'll see you there. I'm looking forward to it after last year's show. With the combined shows the turnout was great.

Not spending a lot of time here lately due to that four letter word that so many around here hate: W***.
I'll see everyone at Zanesville though.
If I understand correctly, there will be C-47 rides available at the airport. Sign me up.

Didn't you go up on the B17 last year?

I went up in the EAA's B17  at another airport farther north in Ohio, maybe that's the one you are thinking of.

HI Tim,
Thanks so much for the pictures. I really missed meeting up with all the guys. It looks like the airport venue is really going to grow.

Great pictures, many thanks for sharing them. I talked to Doug Kelley this past week and he said the new venue was great. A show I hope to get to when circumstances permit.

It speaks to the incompleteness of my photo set that Doug Kelley's beautiful engines are not even shown!

Here are some additional pics
Bob

BTW How do you insert the pictures so they are full size rather than thumbnails?

Thanks Bob. You will need to have them hosted off site and then link them into the post for inline images.

Sorry Guys for the late entrance for photos, but going on vacation has given me the time to sit down and post some photos. It seems that I took almost all of my video Saturday, and photos Sunday, after most people left. But here it is, I'll add video after I'm home and have my password for you tube.

I'm sure there are many but there is no air supplied at this show so people may have opted to leave them at home and bring stuff that they could run.

I do have videos of a few steam engines by Tom Meeks but they will have to wait till Monday. Apparently I didn't pull out my camera much Saturday and everybody left by Sunday. Undoubtedly I missed some good engines, does that make it neglect?

Ok now I'm back home from vacation and here are the promised videos.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJe3JbLaphU" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJe3JbLaphU</a>
These two engines are by Tom Meeks. He had quite a nice setup and his own compressor as well. And thanks to Tony's build I know this is Elmer's #5 geared engine.
This one I really liked but can't remember what it is, maybe an Elmer engine, maybe someone knows and can fill in the blank.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xT3aNNe-Dk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xT3aNNe-Dk</a>
The last is Louis, one of Steve's friends from the Detroit area. It's a Lee Hodgeson Radial.
<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAjC7ZlHkEM" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAjC7ZlHkEM</a>.
It is running a bit rough, He ended up changing one of the two bottom spark plugs couldn't get the other out and was going to change that after he got home. I don't remember if this run was before or after that plug swap. That's about all I got.
