I'll be back there Sunday with a bit more time to spare so will take some pics then.

Trade stands and competition entries were a bit thin on the ground this year but still a good number of nice engines.

Did'nt get chance to take any pics as it was only a flying visit this year. Fewer traders as noted but very busy anyway.

Still have not decided to go :noidea:, I don't like crowds which is why I did not go yesterday, the free tickets Sunday may also cause crowds.

I had noted the lack of model engineering type traders......my current thinking is I might keep my time/money and go to the London show at the end of Jan.

Jo there was no problem with crowds, even went down to where they have the club stands about 12.15 and there were seats available at the catering areas and only a couple of people in the que.

Maybe all the old codgers are going on sunday to save their pensions :lolb:

There was a lovely double diagonal by Anthony mount there and Tony Boxall had all his littel engines there and got 10 awards, one for each. Oh and a part built R&B that may tempt you to visit.

I suspect the lack of people in the cue for food was due to the :hellno: cost as much as anything. Thankyou :old: if I go Sunday it will be more a case of looking to get 10% of my ME subscription price back ;)

Really must find someone to go to these events so that I can have someone to talk about the models on show, discussing them with yourself just gets funny looks from other bystanders .

I envy you guys.  You get to pick a show to go to.   The couple of shows around here have to be combined with antique tractors and washing machine gas engines to make it worthwhile.   Which makes this forum all that more important.  Can't talk steam with just anybody without boring them to tears.

Have a great time and post some pics for the less fortunate.

Jo,

Sandown today was not busy at all! I got there at 10.30 and left at 4.00 ish and not once in that time did it get crowded and neither did I have to line up for food/coffee etc. (?10 entrance, fish & chips ?7.70p and over ?2 coffee might be one reason why)!!
I'm not sure about the traders or lack of them as this was my first time to the show. (The credit card got a hammering though and it did take will-power to walk away from some of the stands)!

So ladies and gents, here are a few pics from today. I will post some more tomorrow and also see if I can down/up-load some videos as well. Sorry they are in no order but neither am I!

Oh, and some of my purchases were a 40 m/m dia x 100 bar of C/I for a couple of pistons for an "A" frame engine, digital internal calibers, punch, brass screws and washers, replacement DRO, height clock with long travel, marking blue (most on my fingers now as can opened when taking out of bag, and yes, the air turned blue as well)!! A couple of magazines.
And some "Surf & Turf" from shop on the way home for tonights meal!!

Kind regards,

Ron.
