The nice thing about the old Delta's is that you can loop the belt inside the part and grind from the inside.    It's a slick little grinder.

Nice! The same machine I got from my dad a while back. I have restored it but it still needs a motor. Haven't decided if I will use it or the kalimazoo vertical yet. Thanks for the pics  :)

I hooked mine up with a Lovejoy coupling, and jacked the sander up to get the shaft aligned.   I made tubing spacers on the lathe and screwed through them.

Worked a treat!

The motor is just screwed down to the bench....not going anywhere!

Well, I'm not quite sure what I started, but it was a simple jab at google knowing every aspect of people's lives, in particular, search results being tailored to your interests.

Well Dave it will be problematic to send you a picture of me having a breast cramp (Cardio-Vascular) after the fact - it would have required a video camera pointing at me and in recording mode at the right moment ....

Besides - coffee is one of the thing my body is alergic to - so that would not have been a possibility.

I'm glad you had a good laught though   - oh yeah - nice tool

Best wishes

Per

I thought it might be a 1" thick piece of wood 42" wide, but we normally quote the wide measurement first  ::)

Jo

That reminds me of the time I tried to claim the record for the shortest man-carrying boat to successfully cross the channel. I was sure my innovative 3' long design was a dead cert, but Guinness refused to ratify the record because they objected to the radical innovation in the design of my 3' long boat. They didn't like that it was 27' wide, but the real thing they had a problem with was the truly radical way my 3' long, 27' wide boat sailed sideways...

Hi Dave,
What are you playing at there still some clear space on that table!

Cute little sander, keep thinking I need something like that....no must not get side tracked, but it would only be for a day or 6 !

Cheers Kerrin

The cool thing about that unit is you can thread the belt inside the part

It would have to be a large part to span the back part of the machine - I have a similar one, the span is around 8 or 9 inches back to the rear part of the belt tensioner.
Or is there some other method you use?

Guess I am going to have to order a motor for mine now. It had already been cleaned up and painted but then set it aside. It is a nice little sander though.

Do you have the manual for it Dave? If not let me know and I'll send you a copy ( if it's not online).
