OK, I managed to reduce this morning's picture by a huge amount. I trust members will be able to identify the images.

The larger one is the Silver Bullet I scrounged from someone who had machined too much off the lower crank case and discarded the casting. I made a wedge shaped filler and attached the sump so it looks right again. Notice the massive valve rockers which I had to make without drawings. They work fine. The crank handle is fitted for display to show the up and down movement of the valve mechanism. The ignition components which I do not have, are supposed to be built into the bell housing with a lever protruding for advance and retarding the timing.

The other little fellow is an experimental horizontal hit-and-miss type which I started constructing just for fun. It will likely never be completed or run but it was fun and a conversation piece.

Both engines show obvious signs of "hanger rash" which is bad.

Enjoy!

Nico

Taplin Twins came in 8cc or 7.5cc, or 15cc, air cooled , water cooled, red head, green head.

Any chance of a pic Per of your engine? My Supplier says he may have some spares but he is not sure what there is yet.

Mine is the original green head. As far as I know they made the red head a bit later before closing down and the 15cc came after a new manufactor took over the brandname.

I might be interested in parts - depending on price - but as mentioned, I would really like to get my hands on drawings. I can take my own appart and make drawings for what I have, but that will still not give me the missing parts, though I could create something that will fit and look right as long as an original isn't next to it ....

Hi Bill. Sorry about that.

.pgf is reduced by Pixillion Image Converter. Free from NCH Software suite. That was the only one that would reduce it to below 1024 bits. I will try and convert it to a .jpg, maybe it will work then. I even downloaded the paid version of Winzip but it will not shrink files sufficiently. Must find another way....

NCH Software suite

I hope that they have cleaned themselves up - or more to the point - that package used to install a lot of unwanted thing on your computer while installing what you hoped it would do  :killcomputer:  :cussing:

Xnview is a great free image edit program that will do what you need here + a lot more

I usually send the image to myself by mail.  Apple then give a choice of sizes.  Start with the small one, and if it is a bit fuzzy, try the next larger.  You will soon work out which size to use.  Save the image from the mail attachment, and use that in the forum.  It will always be the second image, just after the full size one in your photos.

Thanks guys. I downloaded one and will give it a try.

This weekend I did some digging and came up with a lot of stuff, mostly unfinished scratch-build projects but also some complete casting kits... (that got your ears eh?).

Let me do some photo editing and revert.

OK, Now I got the hang of reducing picture sizes - anyone wanna come for lessons...?

I am posting some pictures of some of the stuff I un-mothballed over the weekend, for viewing and perhaps drooling purposes...

Enjoy!

Your 30cc Boxer engine looks remarkably like the 45cc Wall Wizard I have on the bench to finish off :noidea:

Sorry I don't recognise the Vee 8 model  :-\
