Hallo dieter
Gut aussehende Teile.
Mike

Hello Dieter,
Great looking parts.
What material are they made from?
Are the pins a press fit or are they free to rotate?
Is it possible to place a ruler next to the parts, so we can get a sense of scale?
Regards
Mike

Hallo Mike,

Hi Mike,
I basically use Alu EN AW-AlZn5.5MgCu (7075)!
For the pistons I use Alu AlSi1MgMn (6082).
The pins are freely rotatable and have 4mm diameter (needle rollers).
Here is a picture with folding rule, the first clamping of the short connecting rods is also included.

Hallo dieter
Mike

Hello Dieter,
Please keep posting photos of your progress . This is a very interesting engine concept. The rule shows your model engine to be larger than I expected

Kurbelwelle und die kleinen Pleuel sind fertig.
Im Gabelpleuelfuß ist eine Nadelhülse HK 0609 eingebaut.
Nun geht es an die Kolben!
Gruß Dieter

Crankshaft and the small connecting rods are ready.
The clevis has a needle sleeve HK 0609 installed.
Now it's up to the pistons!
Yours Dieter

Hallo Dieter
Weitere hervorragende Teile. Sie werden bald einen kompletten Motor haben.
Werden Sie die CAD-Zeichnungen anderen Motorenherstellern zur Verfügung stellen?
Grüße
Mike

Hello Dieter
More excellent parts. You will soon have a complete engine.
Will you make the CAD drawings available to other engine builders?
Regards
Mike

Hallo Dieter

Why do you use a closed needle bearing, instead of an open one, and how do you get lubrication into it ?
On a full size engine they are always open bearings, if they are needle, ball or roller bearings ....

Nice parts by the way

Mit freundliche Grüsse

Per

die Nadelhülse ist offen.

OK - that makes sense - so it must have been me doing something wrong on the SKF site when I searched for "HK 0609", I got the closed one ....  :noidea:

Before the piston but first the base plate and the first clamping of the crankshaft bearing flanges made.

Hallo,

Hi there,
now finally the first three clampings of the pistons are finished. It is unusual, but it seemed the easiest for me!
