Hello Toby,

There is some fine old machinary of display at Nuenen. Thanks for putting that album together and sharing it with all the forum members.

I was impressed by the way most of the machinary was presented, it all looked as if it had been transported overnight from the last century (and the one before that). The machines had the patina of age and very few ware "over restored" with bright shiny new paint.       Old and natural always looks best.             A bit like me realy :old:

Hello,

i also like it when the engines are shown the way they used to be.
Even better, if you also see the machines that were driven.
Water pumps, generators, milking machines, butter barrels, saws, ....
That's one of the reasons why we want to build a generator and water pumps.
In Dorset, the engines were shown a bit more in use.

Thanks for posting those Toby, plenty more pumps there to add to your collection, I had thought about doing one of the Diaphragm type pumps for my VJ Monitor as you don't see them in model form very often.

Also like the air cooled engine with the dynamo, a early Bi-polar motor is near to the top of my to do list and that is the same sort of thing except the spindle is driven to make electricity rather then making the spindle spin with electricity.

Hope you and your Dad studied that Otto Langen hiding under that tarpaulin too!

Lots to look at there Toby, thanks for posting the album. I am amazed at the size of some of the exhibits as well, like the Blackstone for example!!

Hello,

Jason, unfortunately, the Otto Langen was only under the tarpaulin to see.
The weather was very windy and a bit rainy. Therefore, some exhibitors have their engines protected under the tarpaulins.
I would have liked to see Otto Langen walk and talk to the builder. Unfortunately, it did not happen.
It has been a 1/2 scale. There are also two videos on Youtube.
Meanwhile, we are more interested in the IHC Titan 10-20 tractor than in the Otto Langen engine. Let's see what time still brings.
There is still a great deal left in our father's workshop, the 1/6 Fowler steam tractor, the 1/4 Clayton steam truck, a 1 / 4.5 HL-12 tractor, our water pumps, our ...
There are far too many nice things.

I just upload a video from Nuenen on Youtube, it takes a while, then I show it here.

The beer cooler at minute 3:02 is a great job for a small engine! Never seen that at a show before! Great idea by the builder. Thanks for the video Toby.
