Table top and OD are turned.   I started on the Scotch yoke just squaring up the casting.    Next is the swivel plate on the side of the table, and then finish the yoke.   There will be a couple of interesting set ups on that.   Tonight, I just gave Samantha bell a good bath......She got pretty dirty with all that Iron.

Those sure are some nice looking castings Dave. Did you get the files yet? Please post a picture of them when you can.

I'm thinking that the MLA die filer is one of those casting sets that everyone has, but few have actually built.  (I have a set somewhere, that I bought at the APM show in Vermont about 15-20 years ago)

I like the idea of modifying it to run off the lathe.  Should be an interesting project.

Dave, am I correct in assuming that the files from Martin do not require any modification for use in the die filer? Looking forward to seeing them when you have the chance.

Here ya go Bill.   They are NOS Nicholson die filer files    No modifications required.  1/4" shank except for the 1/8th which is 1/8

I got an assortment from Martin.    good files!

Dave,

If its not too rude a question what do you have to pay for those in the States.

I have modified some files to fit my Excel machine but it would be nice to be able to buy and not have the messing around.

Hey Colin

Here's the order sheet.    I chose the buy 10 files at once  deal for a discount.  I think it was $110+shipping    I might buy some more....probably last the rest of my life I suspect.
