Graham, I'm not sure about the paint, I'm kind of liking the idea of just leaving the aluminum bare, except for the flywheel which needs some body work and color.
Jason I have attached a photo of Myfordboy's engine mounted on the cast base. This is pretty much what the original cast base would look like. The wood base wasn't anything fancy, pretty much just a slab that the engine was screwed down to, photo also attached.
