Ok didn't get a whole lot done.
I squared up 2 blocks and drilled the connecting rod hole.
From there I put it in a 4 jaw on the lathe and turned up the little boss.
Then went back to the mill drilled the 2 0-80 screw clearance holes and proceeded to mill the block to what you see now.
What is left is the crank hole, radius's and general clean up.
Hope to get them done before the weather gets to nice to stay indoors  ;)
Been trying to take pic along with video when I remember.

Excellent progress    :wine1:

I think I will have ago at one however I will have to convert it to metric  ::) Marv's picture shows a square cylinder is this a different engine or just modified for easier manufacture?
Best regards

Roger

The latter.

Ok finished up the frame or base still needs some hand work though.
Got the flywheels also done.
Then I got distracted and played with my V-8 engines a bit. LOL

Nice progress Doc. Looks like the cylinder is facing the wrong way though unless you are modifying the design. Going to have to build one of these when time allows, cute little buggers.

It can be mounted actually either way.

Hi Doc,
I'm building a "Tiny' version of the Huff and Puff. For the piston/piston rod part I made the piston a screw on piece. The reason being, where the rod connects to the connecting rod it's a round cross section and I wanted to make it square. Doing it this way won't allow the rod to go through the hole in the base so I threaded the end, screwed the piston on then turned the piston to size with it mounted. To assemble it I stick the rod through the base, tighten the piston then mount the cylinder.
You might have a look at modifying that part.

Well got a little done today between going and getting my pepper seeds and tomato seeds and starting soil. Tomorrow I plan on getting them planted in the starting tray.

So anyway I did get the crank done
also the slide valve and piston.

The dime and dollar show the size well Doc. A small thing it is too. Nice progress.

You could use your fuel tank as a vapour one. It should work fine like that, the incoming air makes the fuel bubble and the outlet draws off the air/vapour mix.
