Dyak by LBSC
« on: March 26, 2019, 10:00:16 PM »
On the cadge, I have come across  a set of drawings for a 2/12 inch gauge Dyak by LBSC and fancy it as a long  (very) long term project  does any one have a copy of the model engineer article  they could pass / sell on
what do you mean it wont fit  Get a bigger hammer

Hi, we have a DYAK in the Norwich club that is undergoing repairs...new superheater tubes and stuff so lots of photos may be available...? Do you know what the dates are of the build ?? i have a lot of the ME magazines that could  have the articles photographed and put up on this site ??

Ok I shall see if i have got them....should have......
PS, no it is not called DYAK because it dies on the track as one member has suggested !!! It is one of our regular work horses that has given years of reliable service !!  PSS ours is a larger version   3 1/2" gauge version actually

Hi I have looked in the 1934/1935 model engineers but could not find a constructional series about the DYAK...He has a Lobby chat column but not any construction details of an individual engine ...just talks about different engines. Looked in a "Bonds" 1937 catalogue and it has a casting set for Dyak and states  'as described in the Model Engineer  but no dates  I shall ask around to see if i can find something more specific.......

Yes the construction series is in those Model engineer mags under the heading: Shops Shed & Road: A Column of "Live Steam" by LBSC.

HI, I have the articles on the DYAK engine build.....however it is referred to as  a SARAWAK engine so a bit confusing....So here are the 'words and music' as LBSC used to call them.......

HI, here are some photos of the 5 1/2" gauge Dyak that we have in the club that is being fitted with new superheater tubes. Also as this is larger than the 2 1/2" gauge loco there is more room for better details !!
