Yup. Looks like it is going to plow right over me.  :zap:

Food has been stocked. Things brought in. Garage is secure. Kerosene tank is full (for the heater). Propane tank is full (for the grill). Water containers are full. Cars are full. Brand new bottle of Johnny. Just wish I had a generator (for the sump and fridge). Just hoping we don't lose power and if we do, it is for a short time.

Just sitting here waiting for the big show to start.  In another 24 hours we will be in it.  If we make it through Monday night without taking on water we will be in good shape.  That's when the rains are supposed to be the heaviest.  Prepped as best as can be about now.

Food stocked.
Generator checked and full.
20 additional gallons of gas for it.
Ford Explorer full of gas.
Tinder ready.
Fire wood inside and dried.
Wood pile covered.
Gutters cleaned.
Leaves raked out of drainage areas.
Fire Place ready.
Furniture out of basement.
Stuff that can be off of the shop floor is up.

My biggest fear is a tree(s) dropping on the house.

Best of luck to all others in the path.

Too bad the Emicons don't have one with the smiley giving a cloud the finger.  That's about how I feel about now.

It appears that the storm is going to go to the southwest of me....

I went out this afternoon to check on the generator ....I started it last night,,,,but I wanted to put a gallon in the tank.

I found a 1" hole that had apparently been knawd thru the plastic tank by a squirrel!

GREAT!

I plugged it with a automotive body clip and some RTV silicone ....at least until I can get a new tank!

Come to think of it...my wife has been commenting about a squirrel that can barely walk crawling around the property....probably from huffing gasoline!....

Latest storm track has it hitting us in the early evening on Wednesday.

I expect the worst will be traffic jams and a rotten night for the trick-or-treaters.

Wishing the best for all in this storms path....looks like it will turn a little more southward based on reports today. May be better for NY, but not PA and NJ. Please keep us posted as you can.

Well I can see everyone is as prepared as can be expected. Keep safe and keep us posted. I noticed that the wind has wound down some, but I know about the rain and I hope none of you get to much of it. These storms carry a lot of water with them. Good luck guys.

Im down jersey between the ocean and the bay on fairly high ground . the local lake has been empty since the last bad storm so plenty of space for the water to gather . so braced for the storm. tin

Had to wait in a long line at the gas station to fill my last few cans for the generator.  Most of the stations in town ran out of gas yesterday.  I think it is interesting from an infrastructure point of view that there isn't enough gas to go around if everyone decides to fill up on the same day.

the current  track has the eye of the storm just about going over my house.  but less rain and wind than earlier predicted. calming a little still a tropical storm. so I Live in NJ with the potential for sweltering summer heat. a foot of snow at time s in the middle of winter and tropical storms and hurricanes in the fall. gotta love it do not like the weather  no problem changes every three days.

I want to remind you guy in low laying area this is not a time to take chances. The winds are not what you have to worry about. The storm surge is a wall of water lifted by the storm. It's like a Bulldozer and will level anything in is't wake and flood what it can. So please take your family to safe ground. Be safe and keep us posted.

Some 25-30 years ago I lived for a couple of years in Wayne, NJ (about 25 miles from NYC) . Juat a good 2-3 day stretch of rain would cause flooding in low lying areas. I can only imagine what this storm may do. When NYC closes public transportation and the financial district shuts down, you know its serious!! Thughts and prayers go out to all in the effected areas.
