Gypsy Mk1 engine help

kendo57:
Hi I have some plans and a few castings for  1/4 scale Gypsy 1 engine .
Not sure where they originally came from but if anybody knows of a build thread
I can look at .

Jo:
They are Les Chenery Castings/ drawings, they came directly from Les. (I have a set  :-X ) Les' original model is at Old Warden Aerodrome, where my friend Mike Coles sometimes runs his engine.

I don't know of any build threads on line.

Edit: Steve's 1909 Mercedes build http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php/topic,8649.0.html should give you a few clues as to some of the challenges and ways to go about solving them. The other build worth a read is the Cirrus one in SIC.

And a comprehensive set of photos of a finished model: https://www.stationroadsteam.com/quarter-scale-de-havilland-gysy-mk1-engine-stock-code-8029/

Jo:
Would you like to make an introduction post.

If we knew a bit more about your background and what you have made it would make it easier to be able to point you in the right direction to help you build the Gypsy.

Hi,
thanks Jo ,  I  will post an introduction in the correct section.

I think I might have met your friend Mike at the Midlands ME show , I took
a few pictures of a complete Gypsy there and had a quick talk to the owner.
Will be looking through your links today.
