Newbeeeeee here
Smechie:
Hello fellow engine and model makers.
A little bit about myself. I was born in Bristol England, I left the UK in 1987 for a new adventure and life in Canada. I live in Thousand Islands region of eastern Ontario in a rural setting along with my wife and a new puppy! I am a machinist by trade and have longed to be able to enjoy the model engineering hobby once again. I build a skeleton clock (My avatar) in the early eighties and finished it just before leaving the UK. I am set to retire in May 2020, and I am currently setting up small workshop in my basement/crawlspace.
So why am I here? My retirement project is a 1/4 scale Porsche 911 boxer engine!!!! I am currently doing the research needed for the project, and readying the workshop. I have always wanted to own a 911 but was never able to afford to buy one, let alone keep in on the road! So my plan is to build a fully operational engine, with the "possibility" of building the rest of car at a much later date (if I live long enough LOL). I will be posting a regular report and photos as the project progresses. I am sure l will have lots of questions along the way, I am sure this is the right place to find the answers.
Cheers for now,
Ian
