they are the steam pipes for outside cylinders; a plain fabrication would do it if casting doesn't exist.

They are the cylinder steam pipes, I don't think you will get a casting for them as they are usually fabricated from brass a formed cover fitted to smokebox and running board.

What does it say on the boiler Backhead should be stamped with the SWP

Strictly a guess mine was 80 psi

If you don’t know you need to get it tested then have the gauge dead weight calibrated and red lined

Stuart
My aim is for a accurate part with a good finish

sadly I know nothing about loco's but I have just bought a 3.5" gauge one it has run but was partially stripped?? why?? and a few parts are missing, i am trying to restore it but I dont think I will run it, but want it right. I can see me coming back for help in the future. It would be great If I had a set of plans, sadly they are expensive.
I have had a great deal of help in the past and it a a great boon to have so many talented engineers to assist me & I thank them all.

Hi

If it's the LBSC Doris then the build articles are available so you may not need the plans. Have a look here http://www.john-tom.com/LBSC/Doris.zip

Thank you so much for the PDF file, it has been so useful. I did obtain the original set of drawings, but they are very fragile as they are approx 70 years old. The cab was complete bar the Pressure gauge which has been ordered, the missing dome has been made and also the shroud cover for the front pipes. It is looking better all the time. one day I would love to see it in steam, but that may never happen, sadly. I will attach a pic to show you all & looking at it the handrails down the side of the boiler would lift the profile a lot??
