Pink Jeep

(1/3) > >>

Shiroth:
Started off just watching youtube and randomly came across a "larger" plywood jeep video, I instantly decided to make my own but smaller, something the kids could play with.

Started off with a green jeep built around a pocket bike engine, turned out to be a bit heavy for the clutch on the small engine, burned out 2 of them before I decided to swap over to a 6hp off an old power washer. It was one wheel driven and kind of rattles your eyeballs around.

Now to the "Pink Jeep"

A brief description...
It has suspension to reduce eyeball vibrating, a differential for rear wheel drive, and a torque converter. (all upgrades in comparison to the green jeep)

Edit: I hit enter in the preview and it posed it.
The motor I originally used for the pink jeep was a Mitsubishi off another power washer, its in one of the pictures. I did end up swaping it out for a new motor from princess auto. one of the jets was missing on the carb and was proving to be one hell of a time to find a replacement. and I happened to have the new motor in a box, so it just got slapped in.

this project was my first ever real attempt at welding, so a lot of it might look like chicken crap =P

That is cool as heck. I like to fix up Model T go-karts so I can appreciate the miniature cars and trucks.

I'm a real fan of flat fenders... had a '47 CJ2A until a few years ago. A guy offered me a deal I couldn't refuse..  :'(

You don't mess around with framework! That looks like it would take a direct hit.

Excellent!!   :praise2:

Cool buggy!!

Shiroth:
They get a little better each time I build one, learning as I go that kids crash into stuff, the green one has had the bumper bent in on more then one occasion now, so I beefed it up a bit.

Then next one I have planned with will be 4 wheel drive with a starter, eventually would like to build the V8 to slap it in there and be completely kick ass, by then I might actually be decent at building them, I still feel that my skill at it are is poor at best.
