Small drill sharpener
« on: November 17, 2018, 09:36:09 PM »
At a recent Hamilton Model Engineering Club meeting one of the members brought in several sharpening gadgets that he had made over the years. This one is from Guy Lautard based on an original design from ME in 1934.

Interesting lathe work mostly although the shaper got to contribute the 110Degree diagonal groove. For that I made a 6mm round HSS bit holder, which will come in handy for other profile work in the shaper.

Not quite proficient with using the sharpener yet but so far the 3 drills I did cut on both flutes and drill right sized holes.
