Roy Ozauf Oscillator
« on: November 07, 2018, 09:50:37 PM »
Hello Everybody

I finally went back to work in the shop after a long summer, and I decided to make a simple little oscillator that was in a book of plans that I found on the internet. I didn't take a lot of pictures but I did make a little video this morning after I got it running on air.
Still needs a little tweaking and fine tuning to get it to run smoother and slower.

Thanks for looking

Jack

Very interesting design Jack. You should also post the video in the Showcase section since it is finished aside from the tweaking. Well done.

Very interesting design - looks like it could very easily be converted to run both ways ….

Oh and nicely done

Nice!

I've also not seen a design like that. It's worth taking to a show.

Curious what the reason/purpose is for the arc-shaped slider gizmo on the back of the cylinder?

Since I don't see any elliptical drive on it anywhere, I assume that slotted gizmo is what is shifting the slide valve in the cylinder.

This engine is one of the 3 engines from Roy Ouzof's book "The Elegant Oscillators".  This book also contains the plans from the Coventry which I and a couple of others here have built.

I hadn't seen an example of this one at any shows previously, and it looks like a good runner.

The third engine from the book, a wall engine, is one I've seen a couple of examples of at shows.
