Ditto, what Crueby said. I have to admit it sounds tempting, only a 9 hour drive.

It'd be a bit of a drive...but I like driving.  And now son #1 is living/working near there (Huntsville, AL) so ... maybe?

Now that the kids are gone, and the boss would like to do a little travelling, I would very much think I would enjoy a trip down south!

Hi Cletus

Just checked the flights to Nashville from London. June is the most expensive month to travel. A cheap return ticket is £880 ($1100 US). It would have to be one hell of a good party. :wallbang: :wallbang:

But if you could arrange for Dolly to be there.....................

It is the journey that matters, not the destination

Sometimes, it can be a long and winding road

Thanks for all the interest guys. It looks like it maybe a definite go, however, I may have to juggle the date a bit; kinda undecided at the time (see peanuts and popcorn thread) . I do have some connections in the country music field and I’ll try if’n y’all are willing to donate enough to one of Dolly’s charities, I could possibly, by the grace of god, get it done . Chances are slim to none and closer to the last  :lolb:But I’ll do my damnedest  :mischief:. I think it would be nice to have a gathering of like minded people showing what they have done and not worry about profits, liabilities, and such. I’m blown away by the overseas members who took the time to see if it was possible to attend. Just another testament to our membership  . I will continue to plot and plan and y’all keep me posted of your interest.

My wife and I have been thinking about a trip down your way and this sounds like a great excuse.  It's only about a 9 hr. run down the Shenandoah valley for us.  We typically travel in my F150 with a covered bed so bringing some things along would be easy.

Count us in,
Jon

If the timing works out, I'd like to be there.
We've got family in Nashville that we haven't seen for a while.

Hey folks, I thought I would take a few moments for an update. As much as I really want to do the show; with the recent turn of events, I just don't feel like I can make the time to put on a respectable gathering. I have already logged over four thousand miles handling Lou's brothers estate and we have several more trips to Virginia remaining. I definitely still want to do it. I was really looking forward to hosting you guys and have my old dog Don help me with a good crawfish and shrimp boil and Steamer help with some pots of clams and crab and I could handle the pig meat myself. I am still working towards making it happen; just can't say when right now. Thanks for all the interest and looks like we'll have a good crowd when it does happen. Stay tuned.
