The distributor perches atop the front box section. Its mounting bracket is cut from the apex of a sample piece of the frame's angle aluminum and parallel flats milled across bracket for the screw hold downs to the box frame member. The U-joint reconciles the two different shaft angles, giving a more favorable position near 45 degrees. Available from vendors on Ebay.

A pair of PVC bulkhead fittings form the shrouding for these 2 inch fans. There is a pedestal mount under the hex, single 6-32 bolt through the top.

Delrin pulley on shaft through the fan into a R166 roller bearing in pedestal.

There is enough room to place the O-ring belt between the pulley and points cam. The fans turn counter clockwise and push air across the radiators The drive ratio is about 2.3:1.

I buy my carburetors through EBAY for the engines. After this build the subject of making your own came up in a forum. My turn to give them a try out.

They are easy to make. I don't need throttling so engine speed is varied thru air/fuel mixture ratio for a few hundred RPM range.

The air horn inserts are drilled to the flow needs of the engine. A fixed size on left and a variable size with set screw restriction. I go with the fixed size.

On the backside a Delrin adapter to fit the intake manifold. The fuel tube into brass threaded rod with needle seat drilled in.

This mixer worked so well I made a duplicate!   Tried them out on other engines.  SIDE SHAFTER is a recipient of one of these and the O.S buggy and airplane carbs are in a tray now.  Unlikely I will be buying more carbs now!   :ShakeHead:

And now...... the premiere of the LONGBOY SIDE SHAFTER Engine!

This build began the first week of November.

And completed middle of February (12 weeks)

The unique feature of SIDE SHAFTER is its output shaft is adjacent to the cylinder bank.

Made possible by gearing together the engine crank webs!  :o

Have a look/see on how it turned out!        Thanks,   Dave.

What a sweet running engine! It is really nice to see something completely different and finished to such a nice standard.
I was cut out to be rich ... but ... I was sewn up all wrong!

They are PVC plumbing end caps.  3/4 inch size.      Dave.

Congratulations on another great one!

I like all the little parts flying around.

A nice little chugging sound behind the sound of all the gearing and belts.

I like this one.

Thank You for posting.
