Good morning Kim,

Thank you, I am so pleased to have this much work now completed. Still a lot of work to do but it feels like a major milestone to be at this point.

Have a great day,
Thomas

Hello Bent,

Just completed Step 8, all the parts are on the paint rack drying and will be ready to start reassembly tomorrow. However, somehow I mis-ordered several items of bolts, washers and nuts so most likely it will be next week before I can complete the reassembly.

Have a great day,
Thomas

Hello everyone,

Today I started reassembling of all the components starting with the Front Axle,  :cartwheel: this is Step-12. After I install both front Springs the entire assembly will be reinstalled on to the Chassis.

First photo; Axle less the Springs
Second photo; Showing a breakdown of the various components making up the Axle

Have a great day,
Thomas

Better keep the door locked or your shop elves are going to be rolling down the drive soon!

Hello John and Chris,

Thanks John, sure happy to see this "thing' coming back together.

Chris not to worry, none of them are tall enough to reach the door knob and they are all too tired . I worked those little devils hard today :hammerbash:

Y'all have a great day,
Thomas

Hello @Kim

About 100 years ago when I first started this thread   :lolb:  , Kim you ask me about the spacing/gap between the Spring and the Spring Perch. I told you that I would show what I had designed when reassembly was started and shown in this photo are the Shock Absorber - Spacer Rubber Washers. I am installing two (2) on each bolt in front of the center bolt and two (2) on the rear bolt aft of the center bolt. NOTE: the bolts have not been tightened at this point to better show the Washers and there is no weight on the Springs.

The reason that I designed this method is because it allows the “arc” of the Springs to expand in a normal fashion a great distance than if I used an “arc-formed” wood or steel bracket. This also allows me to make small Caster adjustments to the Axle.

Hope this better answers your question, and have a great day.
Thomas

Oooh, very common mistake. None of them can reach the knob. All of them together can!

Thanks for the great explanation, Thomas!  And its amazing that you remembered that question.  It was some time ago, wasn't it?

Hello Kim,

Yes it has been a while but I did not think that I had answered your question well enough originally.

Have a great day,
Thomas

You are making short work of that list Thomas. It's really coming back together nicely now.
