Rodger--The "turtledeck" is the portion of body behind the driver. In this case, he is referring to the portion of the rear body that hinges up to uncover the engine. If you had a trunk or a rumble seat there, the strip of metal between the trunk area and the driver was called the "Daisy-panel". If you didn't have a turtledeck, then you had a small box like a pickup truck.---Brian
