V12 solenoid engine
« on: August 17, 2018, 11:32:58 AM »
Hi everyone,

It's not finished yet, but most of the parts of my future V12 solenoid powered are now on my desk.
The six-in-line i showed here a few weeks ago is the base i worked on to make this new toy. Same solenoids, same cranckshaft, connecting rods, camshaft, micro-switches, gears...
The more known parts i use, the best it is to let a chance to make it start.

Here are some screen captures of the 3D model. Soon, the pictures of the real thing in assembling phase.

All parts are born.
Time to play...

I must put in and set the compound crankshaft. A long and boring work to do. At the end there must be no resistance left. The holy graal is a perfectly free crankshaft.

Thank you.

It's a poor thing, compare to those i've seen here. But i feel proud to be among the model engine makers.
And i'm still amazed to read comments from USA or any other lands so far from my home. ^-^

The workmanship displayed in your engine is of the highest quality, Hagar. You're doing top notch work!

I like this engine a lot. I've been thinking about a multi-cylinder solenoid engine myself and you have not only provided an example, but set the bar high.

Congratulations on this one and I'll be watching if you post a build of the next one.

Sure i will !

It's a great interest, for me, to see how other engine builders do the same job. So please, create your own multi-solenoid engine. Better solutions are waiting to be found. :noidea:

Thank you Chuck.

I hope the W18 i'm working on will run as well as this one.
