Ported Piston Engine.

This engine seemed to attract some attention :-

So here is another scratch built engine :-

I have had the idea of using the piston in the same way as a two stroke to drive an air motor but with the ports in the piston rather than the cylinder wall.
Making it double acting and having the piston rotate as it moved up and down, was a design that suddenly came to me.
Pictures in the next post.

Pictures of the bits. The ports are highlighted with a black pen.
Piston is PEEK plastic, Cylinder is stainless steel and Body is brass.

Clever design! It is a being a 4/2 valve and bistable cylinder in one if I understand correctly?
