How do you know it's a 'himself'  :headscratch:

He has a long tail (tapering bit) relatively to his body length  ;)

I also keep honey bees, there is the beet root eater (or this year as I netted the beetroot, the flowers/flocks eater :cussing: ) and my green woodpecker which we have agreed that we both talk to each other in the garden so that I don't spook her...As long as I talk to her she will let me within a couple of metres of where she is.

Did I mention the monster European hornets, thankfully they are docile unless you provoke them  :paranoia:

Ah ... So that's how it's possible to sex snakes. Didn't know that  :headscratch:

Not seen a hornet here, stung by a wasp this morning  :cussing:  Not too bad, one of the late season small ones I think. It had perched in the hoe handle. Didn't see it and grabbed the said handle and got zapped. Flicked the thing onto the floor and applied the size 10 boot compression test.  ;D  Boot 1   .. Wasp 0

They seem to spend a lot of time around the tree lupins you gave me for some reason. A couple of weeks ago there were a lot of Ladybird larvae on them but not now. All turned into the adult beetles and ..  errr ... beetled off I suppose ...   Sorry, best I could do ...  ( They can nip you too. Got a little nip from one some weeks ago when I had one on my hand looking at it. )

Probably died of food poisoning, poor little bugger .... that'll larn 'im ....

How about one of these then? No new fangled electronics, good spares availability and plenty of space  :)
Best regards

:hellno:

I used to have a few Spitfires learnt a lot about maintaining cars owning those

This wimp is going for something that handles, is safe and reliable and doesn't bio-degrade whenever I leave it for a couple of days :disappointed:

Chuckle.  Get a Mazda MX-5, it's basically a spitfire but with Japanese engine and electrics, i.e. a Spitfire with the demons of Lucas excorsized.

Well, not ALL the demons! I just had to splice in new pigtails to the coils on each cylinder on my '06 since they used very thin wire for the signal wires, and they are well known (but ignored by Mazda) to eventually break internally, causing nasty intermittant missing. Other than that issue though, it is a very fun car to drive, and has held up remarkably well for 12 years so far.

Jo,

You could always get one of what I'm driving in my Avatar.  Sub 5 seconds to 60, 35-40 m.p.g.  Simple short roof that can be put up in a couple of mins.  And if you really felt enthusiastic you could build it yourself.

Now THAT would be fun. But is it available as a castings kit rather than fully machined?!?!

Yes It comes as a kit, some bits might need a bit of fettling.  Just needs assembly.  I spend around 170 hours building mine.  Can be done quicker, but the more care you take the better.

With a bit of luck its going round Los Picos in Spain in couple of weeks.  Engine and programmable ECU permitting.
