Hi All
I've been around a while but never posted, some of you may know me.
Ex P.E. teacher, now retired, bought first lathe around 5 years ago and spent 3 years just rebuilding and renovating.
Now enjoy making model engines, just 3 to date
1. The whittaker firefly 2 stroke glow plug engine.
2. A 1947 vertical marine steam engine designed by J.H. Jepson
and 3. just finished the simple muncaster oscillator designed by H.Muncaster in 1912.
That's all, next model likely to be double acting oscillator

Hi Jeff,
Welcome to the forum, er at least posting to the forum! :)

Are you going to share some pics of the engines you've completed?  That would be fun to see.

And what lathe did you rebuild?

Inquiring minds want to know! :)

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the welcome.

This looks like a great site, many of the questions I had have been covered in previous posts.

My lathe is an old Myford, solid, dependable and much modified by myself.

Here is a video of my last model, a single cylinder oscillator, looks simple enough but there was a lot of work went into it.
