K.O. Lee T/C Grinder Project ....

Saw a K.O.Lee tool and cutter grinder on Craig's List and thought it might be a good project. Already have a B300 & B600 so it wasn't
like I needed another one. Watched for a week and decided if it was still available I would go look at it. 
Original motor was toast, but I have a spare K.O. Lee motor so was not to worried about that part. The price was fair and the seller threw in
some other items so I bought it.
Easy getting on the truck, but a little more difficult unloading at the house. Took as much apart as possible so I could man handle it on the lift.
Got some back up help from the wife to make sure the lift stayed in place and all went fine.

Got  some miscellaneous tooling and all the pulleys for the spindle attachment.

I didn't know there was a difference between machinist / collector !

More disassembly and cleaning. Pressure washed the base and added some low height heavy
duty casters so I can at least move the grinder by myself.

The ways are in excellent condition along with the other parts. Everything that can come
apart is apart, now.

Doing some light sanding of the worst areas for painting.

This grinder has a wider and longer table than my B300 so I will be moving the spindle
attachment to this grinder. I purchased the spindle attachment years ago when K.O. Lee
was still in business.

Finishing up this project .......

Paint, assembly, moving the VFD from the other grinder and it is ready to go.

The last thing on the list to cleanup and make operable that came with the L.O. Lee was a Delta " Unihead " attachment.
A little rusty and certainly filthy along with dried up grease in the spindle bearings and a slightly bent shaft on the index pin and missing the pull knob.
Tear down and restore and fix what needed with some new paint.
Even found the instructions for it on the internet.

I like the caster wheels you are using. How are they performing with the weight of the machine on it?

Hi Yogi,

They are more than rated for the weight, but don't swivel that great on the concrete floor. Roll good otherwise.
