Ray HasBrouck's No 3 Engine
« on: June 21, 2018, 09:02:50 PM »
After what seems like an age but is just 5 months (quick for me, really) I have finished Ray HasBrouck's rocking valve engine, my 10th completed engine.   :wine1:  I reduced it to 15mm bore by 20mm stroke and made a few other cosmetic changes and also cheated by buying in a flywheel.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNu1jpn3bpk" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNu1jpn3bpk</a>

It runs nicely, as you can see, although I've just noticed in the video an air leak from the cylinder head  :'(

Next job is to clean out the workshop for the first time in 6 years and then I think I'll have a go at Julius' Monitor from his drawings published on here.

Looks great Jim  :)

Is there a link you can post to the video? All I can see here is a blank space but I'd love to see it running.

I get the same result as I normally use IE11 and it can't show the never video format (though it will show the video on YouTube) - either a link to the YouTube page where it is or copy paste the above www address into Chrome and it will show the video right here on this page.

Very nice engine and a fine runner too Jim  :praise2:

That is an excellent model, Ray would be very pleased with that one. The valve is a nice addition, and the paint job looks great.

Mighty fine engine, mighty fine. I love the sedate speed and the exhaust note. Beautifully finished.

Congratulations!! :cartwheel: :pinkelephant:

Great. I like the valve, too.

If the monitor is next, I'll be watching. (Actually, I'll be watching whatever you do.)
