Hi Jo

That all looks spot on, must have been the camera lens distorting things. I like the screwdriver slot to help with the valve lapping. :ThumbsUp: :ThumbsUp:

A bit of progress   ::)

One of the cam followers caught on the timing gear mounting plate :Doh: so that was turned thinner.

I found a second reason why I could not use a CM-6 plug as the hex bit catches on the push rods  :facepalm: The longer plug with the hideous 16mm hex sits clear but I am not sure.

I am also not sure about why this set of castings came with a pair of spiral gears that are not for this engine but I am not currently sure which they are for there are a few engines that use these :noidea:

Sounds like an ideal excuse to obtain another set of castings ;)

How much does the CM-6 foul by? Could you mill it down to 12mm hex?

The timing bracket is difficult to hold  :facepalm: The only bit with any surfaces to clamp on is the clamp at the bottom. So that needs squaring up first.

Then there is little choice where the mounting hole is going to go as that only has about 1mm to come off the inside diameter  :-\ While it is mounted up best drill the holes relative to the mount. This can then be used to hold the bracket to turn the back face. A bit more drilling/tapping, then the clamp can be slit.

A quick check it fits - I needed extra clearance around the bolt heads behind the bracket, then I need to think about making some mounting screws  :thinking:
