New guy (Western PA)
« on: June 06, 2018, 02:03:02 AM »
Hello all. I'm one of those people that couldn't finish all their projects or enjoy the multitude of hobbies they have if they lived 5 lifetimes. I enjoy vehicle collecting/racing/restoration, blacksmithing, casting, machining, WWII reenacting, firearms collecting and building, camping,  drones, anything history related, lots of research, and on and on.

Engines have always fascinated me so I decided it was time to build one. Or a dozen.

I have a 14x40 lathe, 7x10 lathe and a 9x39 mill and lots of YouTube training. I could watch mrpete222 and myfordboy forever!

As I remember more of my hobbies I'll edit this post.  :wallbang:

Welcome mp43 and thanks for posting the intro. You certainly aren't alone in having multiple hobbies, but I hope this one will grow on you as it has for many/most of us. There is a special fascination about building an engine and then seeing it come to life to be enjoyed and shared with others.

Welcome to the forum. There's a lot of knowledge here just waiting to be tapped. Start off with something relatively simple so you don't get discouraged. We old timers aren't getting any younger so gather the knowledge while it's still available.

Craig,
Welcome to the gang. Any particular brand of car you focus on collecting, restoring?

Welcome from Western Pa. Craig, I'm near Erie by the lake. You've found a great place here, really helpful, knowledgeable folks with amazing talent in many hobbies.
