Dave,
I feel your pain on high ceilings! Our kitchen / family room is 4.3 meters, with 9 x 2 bulb halogen lights! We had a lighting guy do the design work for us & the issue becomes getting the light down to the working level, 50 watt, 30 degree bulbs did the trick. The first year or so was ok then bulbs needed replacing, I had to go & hire a ladder tall enuff to get up to do it so used to wait until 7 or 8 bulbs had gone! Then a week latter another would go
A couple of years back I replaced them all with LED’s, I used the COB type. That was nearly 3 years ago & ive only had to look at 1 & that was a loose wire.

Cheers Kerrin
Get excited and make something!

The last of the new bulbs should arrive tomorrow and if this incoming storm doesn't ice things up I hope to have the LED light conversion finished up tomorrow and not have to worry about lighting for the next 20+ years  :cartwheel:

Ok, last of the lighting pics, that project is now done. Though I haven't done any measurements, it seems to be about twice as bright as it was before and no more annoying hum of the flourescents either. I am really happy this this option. Painting still being considered but really don't think it will be necessary or I will have to get some shaded safety glasses!

Now to unclutter the place  :headscratch:

Bill you haven't had our Graham storing your rotary table for you have you   ::) How are you planning to move that monster around?

Maybe its all that extra lighting making it look worse than it really is  ;)

Damn Bill, that shop is getting decked out but buddy you don’t have to paint it bright white and off color would help with dark shadow areas and enhance the look of the shop. Just saying!

Saw that did you?  Its not as bad as it looks, just a bit of surface on the table itself which will clean up easily. It is a rather heavy beast though!

I recommend one of the 135Kg Motorcycle hydraulic scissor lifts to move it round  One with wheels.... but they don't seem to do those like they used to  :-\

There is also a super spacer lurking about that needs a bit more TLC than the RT, but equally heavy, and a lift would definitely be a plus for both. I had bought one over at the university a while back and will see what I can find.

I’m gonna go off the other end here: I’d stain everything to match a set of Kerstner chests and buy more lights and the chests  :lolb:

My Gerstner chests really stand out against the lighter wall in the room they are in...    :stickpoke:
