Cletus,
What, you found  RC Cola. Never find it on the turnpike while traveling so I settle for Dr Pepper. Although I'd rather a beer or maybe I should say ale, and Stones, Arrogant Bastard is one my top choices.

A bit more deforestation this morning. The entry side is now fairly clear. You can see the progress in photos 1-3. Next up will be that front corner (photo4). There is one gnarly bush that's going to have to come out a piece at a time as things are unbelievably intertwined.  I cut a lot of the limbs free from the trunk but no joy in pulling them free yet. One step at a time.

That one bush may require an air strike...

Looks like you are only tickling them Bill  :naughty:

If you are taking the roots out I would leave 3 ft of trunk so you have something to get hold of when you pull it out

They look rather too small to use as fire wood  I can recommend Dave's Mulcher for disposing of the stuff and providing you something useful. It was very therapeutic watch it swallow old branches the other day in exchange for garden mulch :D

Jo

P.S. This was one I did earlier  :embarassed:

There is quite a pile growing now Jo, with more to come. I had thought of mulching, and may do that or just get a construction dumpster, as there is a lot on the inside to be trashed as well, though not botanical stuff.

Bringing out the bigger gun now both for cutting the grass and clearing out undergrowth. Took delivery today of a sub compact JD tractor with 54" belly mower and front loader.

Grading for the new house will also commence end of this week or first of next week and the grading guy ( with even bigger guns) has said he will help clear a few bigger trees on the perimeter of the shop. Slow progress but still getting there.

 Uh oh. Now he's going to tool around the yard instead of tooling in his shop.

That is a pretty cool new toy there, Bill!

I assume you'll show us before and after pictures of the area you're clearing? :)

That’s a nice machine there Bill! You will like it. It’s a very useful tool around the property. I have a same size machine, and I wouldn’t give it up for anything.

I even built a stump grinder for mine:

Thanks guys. Just spent 2.5 hours on it cutting grass ranging from 12" to even 24" high in places. I didn't take a before shot but here's an after shot from the street. The shop is way in the back and not visible in this picture.

Saweeeet. You know what they say: “Nothing runs like a Deere and nothing smells like a John  :lolb:.  Watch that roll bar around the tree limbs. They cause abrupt stops, ask me how I know

Yeah Cletus, I figured that out, and the smaller limbs it pulls forward and slaps the back of your head. Fortunately I was watching out and one thing I will be doing is trimming those low hanging branches  ;)

Hi Bill,

Well it looks like "spring fever" and shop cleaning has affected a lot of us. Neat tractor too.

Have a great day,
Thomas

You could mount a chain saw to that roll cage thing, to automatically trim tree limbs.

You're welcome.

Safety third and all that. I'm full of ideas today.
Stuart

Forging ahead regardless.
