Craig , when you read comments like that from Zee, just take into account: he doesn’t wear blue jeans, bib overalls, or even wear shirts with pockets on them  :mischief: :lolb:. I think I’m going to send him, as a retirement gift, a pair of Liberty overalls (he can put his own hole in the pocket  :naughty:) and a two pocket Carhart shirt. Y’all might want to chip in on the footwear, cause I’m betting he’s more Wing tips than Redwings

I wear blue jeans. No bib overalls (but did at one time).
Shirts have to have a pocket!!!
Never had wing tips or redwings.
At home I generally wear a pair of leather loafers whose soles are about to fall off. You can see some toes and a bit of arch from the side.
I will wear them until they turn to dust! Much to the unhappiness of T.  ;D
I would wear Converse low-quarters but at my age, the arches hurt (and tying shoes is a waste of time).

So I believe Cletus loses that bet. Makes we wonder what his betting average is.

"Leave it to Beaver" house this is not.

You are one to talk Bill.  ;D

Cletus started it.  ;D

@Cletus...good bait always reels me in.  :lolb:

P.S. Never could understand why Wally put up with Eddie.

P.P.S. Anyone can send me a PM and ask that I let up on trashing a thread. No offense will be taken.

Ok, let’s see: Bill, if Zee and I don’t banter, there will never be swarf, it’s just what we do. Kinda like honing a toolbit before taking a cut  :lolb:. Yeah Zee, I started it with bits gleaned from years of your posts. You don’t think I remember this stuff, but I do  :o. My theory on Wally and Eddie is: Wally found out that June and Eddie did have something going on and Eddie was his ticket to get away with anything. Just kinda somewhat, sorta, kinda, well, kinda, sorta, speaking from experience  :naughty: :lolb:. Zee, you can trash my threads anytime; permission granted; actually, I like it  :lolb: :lolb:. Zee, fair warning: I’m putting metal in the four jaw come Sunday and chips are gonna fly; you riding with me  :lolb:

Crud. I have to come clean (yet again). I haven't ordered my material. I did order some tools (and got them).
Yeah...I'm draggin' my feet. I got a few personal issues I'm working on.
Had some good news today though!

But I'm not worried. It's the old tortoise and the hare story. I can wait a bit...and then blow by ya.   ;D
You'll just feel a breeze...and think you're cooling off...but you're not.  :lolb: :lolb:

Thanks for a great chat this evening fellas. I’ll leave you with another musical treat written by my “adopted son”. I think you will enjoy Bill and I hope all the rest of y’all get the meaning.

Yo Cletus...

Are you planning to put in an inlet manifold, governor, and whistle?
I didn't see any castings for them.

If you do...I'll be more than curious to see the inlet manifold.

How are y’all doing today? Well, I said I was going to make swarf today and that’s just what I did. I decided to start on the cylinder casting first. After a bit of, fondling, calculating, and figuring, I chucked it up in the four jaw with some packing and centered the bore roughly by using a live center in the tail stock.

There was plenty of stock to work with and this seemed to work fine. I turned the rod end to dimensions first and then bored to .750” and then took a very light skim cut across the face with the boring bar to ensure perpendicularity.

I then removed the casting and put it on an expanding mandrel, indicated the bore, and turned and faced it to final dimension.

.

All in all, everything went well and I’m pretty sure Bozo didn’t show up today. Zee, there were no casting or drawings for the items you mentioned. They sure would dress up the model though, if it’s doable. So that’s about it for today. On to the port face and ports; tomorrow maybe. Thanks for looking in.

Good start Eric.

I actually made a bit of swarf today as well. But it was experimentation trying to figure out how to make the inlet manifold.

You didn't answer my question...  ;D

Are you planning to put in an inlet manifold, governor, and whistle?

You know you have to.   :stickpoke: ;D

BTW Not getting my PMs?
