I think I see your problem.  You need to mount the D-valve inside the steam chest, not on top of it!  :lolb:

:lolb: That one caught me too. At first I was thinking this is very very different from my engine. It took a moment to realize it's just sitting outside for now.

Looking good Eric!

Good eye on the slide valve guys  :facepalm2:  Hey, it’s been so stormy, I was just trying to show all my parts. Let’s see how many get that one  :lolb:. To be honest, getting to this point kinda slipped up on me. I had just been pissing about in the shed, hour or three here and there, and right before I left today, I saw the opportunity for the family shot. The “hidden booboo” is really coming into play now and I have done a ton of scratching and figuring, and now it’s down to seeing how “fer off I wuz” . I will say it’s looking somewhat promising at the moment, well, that’s a definite maybe  :lolb:. Thanks guys for the time.

 Well, the only thing I notice is the valve guide is missing. But unless there's not enough room to put it...it shouldn't be a problem.

Now if I had some remote calipers...maybe something else would show itself...but I'm doubting it.

Well as Steamer says: “no picture and it didn’t happen “. So, here’s y’all a crappy cell phone video of the first run. Not a gasket or packing installed yet, but by jiggy it’s a runnah  :pinkelephant:

If it runs you must have done something right, don't wear it out playing with it :)

Congratulations Whiskey!!! I'm sure a little fine tuning and a few gaskets will yield a beautiful slow running masterpiece.---Brian
