The biggest worry the TVNZ reporter had tonight was that the organisers had forgotten to ensure there were dunnies/loos for the crowds of people how will be there for hours.

Well, I don't know:   if exactly while the happy couple are tying the knot you can't be at the lathe heavily involved in screw cutting a triple start LH square thread nut to match a 5/16" OD screw, in a sticky bit of phosphor bronze of unknown origin, and still have joy in your heart somewhere deep down, well then, you're not trying very hard....

...maybe  ...   Dave

Bllooody 'Ell Dave Now there's a real 'blast' from the past. Haven't heard him mentioned for many a year - a truly 'one off' extraordinarily funny man.  I've never thought to look but I guess his stuff must be available on CD?

A friend had several LPs and we spent quite a few :lolb: evenings listening to his tales - that must have been the early seventies. Just after I met Sue he appeared at Lowestoft in a small theatre now long gone. The the place was packed and he had everyone in tears from his opening line to the last. One of the funniest evenings live entertainment we've ever been to.

Who on earth would want to hear about a wedding if Blaster was in full thrutch  ;)

We are hoping the rain does not reach this far north (though its supposed to) - we have a big RC event at the pond tomorrow. Rain would be a 'Royal' pain!

Coverage here has not stopped anyone would think nothing else is happening in the world  :ShakeHead:

It is interesting they have been making a big fuss about rough sleepers in Winsor all year but tonight they are going out of their way to get thousands more  I hear they have brought in a special double decker bus for rough sleepers but I cannot see the 8 bunk beds going far. My colleague was offering out his 'spare' flat in Winsor earlier in case anyone felt the need, he was planning to be miles and miles away  ;)

They did the same thing here last year with the total solar eclipse; couldn’t find a room anywhere and people were renting out their homes. Hope the marriage lasts longer than the eclipse  :LittleDevil: :lolb:

Well, my wife Tivoed the wedding and we'll be watching it tonight.  We've been watching wedding prep all week.  I need to do what I can for her.  She has bought me all the shop tools I want and need.  If watching the wedding makes her happy, it makes me happy.  You guys just whine too much!  :Jester: It's all about fun! :)

No, we weren't invited.  Probably for the best.  I doubt my wife would have an appropriate hat!   ;)

Has Linda finished gardening yet... careful she might have chores lined up for you  ::)

Gardening was good another two trees cut, chopped and stored  :) It was really weird very quiet most of the day -except when I was using my chain saw about mid day  :mischief:   I guess everyone had headed off to the beach

It was odd my father turned up today with a bottle of nice Champagne for me and said my Mum had brought it for me because she thought I might want something to celebrate with  :noidea: Surus has suggested that I should celebrate being given the bottle of Champagne   :wine1:

Had to laugh at some of the TV coverage. Not sure our British friends quite knew what to do with the gospel choir and the evangelical bishop's homily. Certain society ladies were caught on the television coverage with their mouths wide open. Good on Megan for bringing the monarchy into the 21st century.

I don't think I've ever seen such a sloppy track for the Preakness.  But that pony Justify just seems to get it done, regardless.
