In the days before the clean air act, when life was fun :-)

You can almost smell the engine from your computer  :)

Ploughing engines don't smell  :hellno: They are engines of the countryside they cause none of these modern noxious pollutants from infernal combustion powered vehicles - its the  :censored: steam coal they sell us these days that causes the black smoke  ::)

I would much rather be sitting down wind of a Plough or traction engine than a modern vehicle, preferably with a :DrinkPint:

I disagree there, I bet that Fowler going uphill smelled better than any aftershave  ;)

Most engines and their owners start the day smelling of Brasso  ::)

At the May fair two weeks ago Onward  sat their ticking over happily to herself, there was no noticeable aroma from her....except maybe a bit of overwarm Brasso as she glowed in the heat of the day  8)  For some reason few wanted to get anywhere near Dave her perspiring Builder/owner, I don't think anyone would have noticed if Dave had started the day wearing aftershave by that time, stoking a firebox had had its "effects" :lolb:

And it looks like it's being operated by the legendary "Two Men and a Boy" (Or was it three Men...?)

Too bad steamers never get out on the road here in the USA (At least, that I know of.)

Now if VW were to make ploughing engines we would soon see what pollution was all about.

watch till the end......

air quality would be the least of your concern in a 100 acre field...

ShopShoe, I’m pretty sure this would exceed the “opacity level” of every municipality in the good old US of A. I have a friend that was driving a hopped up Catapiller coming out of the hills of Pennsylvania and he received, in the mail, a citation from some town for exceeding their “opacity limit” :slap:
