That's going to be a good looking engine George.

Were did you source the cast iron head?

Hi Mike
I'm Robbie. The engine is from George britnell plans.
The head was machined from solid cast iron round bar. ( just what I had ).

Hi Robbie,

Sorry about the name mix up. Who would ever have guessed the cylinder head was hidden in a piece of round cast iron bar?

Very nice looking, Robbie!

So, are you doing all the carving by hand? Or are you using CNC of some kind?  If you're doing it by hand, did you get the step-off charts from George, or did you do your own?  Regardless, it is looking amazing!

I use manual and cnc. Using featurecam software and an old bridgeport interact. Most of the drilling is done on a manual mill. More feel for the tiny drills.

The cylinder head has alot of detail in and a lot of waste from the big piece of cast iron I had.

Studs that screw in to head to hold the rocker box cover in place. Machined from 303 stainless. 4mm hex bar. 2x56 threads both ends.

Nuts that screw on to rocker studs. These hold the rockers in place. Again hex bar and 2x56 threads.
